La Cabane, Los Monteros: Marbella Beach Club - Review

La Cabane at Los Monteros, Marbella: a beach club with a pool, seafood and grills, run in 2025 with Dolce & Gabbana. What to expect and what reviewers say.

East of Marbella’s centre, the Los Monteros area is quieter and greener than Puerto Banús, with villas, pine trees and long beaches. It is also home to La Cabane, one of the best-known beach clubs on the Costa del Sol: a pool, sun loungers and seafront cabins by day, and a restaurant in the evening.

We went for dinner on the last evening of our four days in Marbella.

The place

A large white pool surrounded by loungers and palm trees, with the sea just beyond, and a restaurant terrace looking over it all. In summer 2025, the club ran a collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, “Dolce & La Cabane”: the tableware, cushions and decor were in the brand’s colourful Sicilian prints.

What we ordered

We had a grilled steak, sliced and served simply, and cocktails, including a classic negroni. The menu is Mediterranean: fish and seafood, grilled meats, salads, pasta and desserts.

What Google reviewers say

Google rating: 4.3 out of 5 from 1,656 reviews (October 2026).

Opinions are more mixed than at a typical restaurant, which is normal for a big beach club. On the positive side, reviewers praise the pool, the setting, clean facilities, welcoming staff in the restaurant, and fresh seafood, fish and vegetarian dishes; the tiramisu is a favourite dessert. The negative reviews focus on the reception and door staff, described by some as cold or unwelcoming, and on prices. Many visitors combine a day on the loungers with lunch or dinner.

Los Monteros and east Marbella

Most visitors to Marbella know the old town and Puerto Banús, both to the west of the area. The coast east of the centre has a different feel: residential, green, with pine trees, golf courses and villas set back from long, wide beaches. Los Monteros is one of the best-known areas on this stretch.

Further east, near Cabopino, the Dunas de Artola are a protected area of natural sand dunes with a wooden boardwalk, one of the few stretches of the Costa del Sol that still looks wild.

How a beach club day works

If you have never been to a Mediterranean beach club, the format is simple:

  • Book a spot. You reserve a lounger or a larger daybed. Front-row spots by the pool or the sea usually cost more.
  • Check the conditions. Some clubs charge a fixed price per lounger, others work with a minimum spend on food and drinks. Ask when you book.
  • Arrive in the late morning, settle in, swim, and order drinks to your lounger.
  • Lunch late. In Spain, lunch is usually from around 2pm.
  • Stay for sunset, when many clubs play music and the atmosphere changes.
  • Dinner from about 9pm, which is the normal time on the Costa del Sol in summer.

You can also skip the lounger and just book the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

When to go

The Costa del Sol beach season runs roughly from May to October:

  • July and August are the hottest and busiest months, with the highest prices and the hardest bookings.
  • June and September are the sweet spot for many people: warm weather, long evenings, and the sea is often at its warmest in September.
  • Spring and late autumn are pleasant for a meal, but the beach club side may not be fully open.

Getting there

Marbella is about 45 minutes to an hour by car from Málaga airport, along the coast road. Los Monteros is east of Marbella’s centre, so it is closer to the airport than Puerto Banús is. The easiest way to reach the club is by car or taxi; in the evening a taxi saves you from driving after cocktails.

Combine it with

  • Marbella’s old town, with the Plaza de los Naranjos and its whitewashed streets.
  • The seafront promenade, which runs along the beach through the centre.
  • Puerto Banús, on the other side of town, for the marina and the shops. See our Marbella guide.

Good to know

  • Address: Calle Jabalí, Los Monteros, Marbella, about 10 minutes by car east of the centre.
  • Season: the club is seasonal and closes in the colder months.
  • Booking: essential for loungers and beds in summer, and recommended for dinner.
  • Budget: beach-club prices. Loungers, food and drinks add up quickly.
  • Dress: smart casual in the evening.

Verdict

A beautiful setting for a long day by the pool or a summer dinner in Marbella, with good food. Book ahead, expect beach-club prices, and go in with relaxed expectations at the door.
